Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

Certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or an equivalent certification agency

New graduates of an accredited Histotechnology program must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Current HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or an equivalent certification agency
Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a Histology laboratory if not a graduate from an accredited Bachelors of Biological Science Program

Education/training REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/training PREFERRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science
Independent action(s) required:

Perform routine histology techniques and problem solve as necessary with direction from supervisor as required.

On-call rotation with other technical staff if applicable.
