Description

POSITION TITLE: Director of Information Technology

POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of Strategic Support

DEPARTMENT: Strategic SupportPOSITION EFFECTIVE: November 20, 2023

POSITION SUMMARY:The Director of Information Technology plays a pivotal role in leading our technology initiatives centered around automation, AI integration, business transformation, and data analysis. This position requires a strategic mindset, exceptional coding abilities and a proven track record of leading teams in driving innovative technological solutions and strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with business objectives, emphasizing automation, AI, and transformation initiatives.
  2. Lead, mentor, and inspire a small team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  3. Collaborate with executive leadership to understand business needs and translate them into actionable technology strategies.
  4. Spearhead and drive initiatives focused on automation processes and integrating AI solutions to optimize workflows and enhance operational efficiency across departments.
  5. Identify opportunities for AI implementation to drive predictive analytics, machine learning models, and intelligent decision-making processes.
  6. Identify opportunities for technological interventions by evaluating current systems, recommending enhancements, and implementing solutions to increase productivity, and reduce operational costs.
  7. Oversee the analysis of complex datasets to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  8. Implement robust data governance practices and ensure data integrity and security.
  9. Utilize expertise in coding languages such as SQL, Python, etc., to develop scalable solutions and tools that align with business objectives.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has direct reports.

Qualifications


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience leading teams, driving change, and managing complex projects from inception to implementation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
  • Thorough understanding of a good range of computer software including word processing and desktop publishing, databases and spreadsheets, accounting programs, and use of the internet.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • (10) years of proven and progressive experience in an IT leadership role, driving automation, AI, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Proficiency in coding languages (e.g., SQL, Python) with the ability to develop and maintain efficient code.

  • Varying work schedules based on business need are sometimes required.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to read a variety of materials.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to carry and lift materials up to 25 lbs.
