The Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) is the only culturally specific non-profit organization in New York City serving Latinx survivors of domestic and sexual violence, the vast majority of whom are immigrants. Created as a grassroots response to intimate partner violence and sexual assault, VIP has always centered survivors in its leadership and has worked to create a community of staff that reflects the rich national, ethnic and racial diversity of the communities it serves. VIP operates three community-based social service programs, two residential shelter and housing programs, a helpline, innovative economic justice, children and adolescent and sexual violence programs, and a robust community engagement team.
The Child and Adolescent Program Manager is a compassionate leader with a demonstrated commitment to providing trauma-informed and survivor-centered practices with families impacted by domestic violence. The manager will be responsible for oversight of clinical interventions, and adapting them to culturally affirming practices for Latinx families. In collaboration with VIP’s Data Team, the manager will support the collection and analysis of data connected to the impact of client services and participate in a rigorous program evaluation. Based on findings, the manager will develop guidelines and trainings to inform systems change with partner organizations, including health care, nutrition and head start programs and improve VIP’s overall response to children and adolescents impacted by domestic violence. The ideal candidate embraces values of diversity, cultural humility, teamwork, and community empowerment. This is an excellent opportunity to combine clinical, program management and training skills in a supportive, and survivor-focused organization.
