Vinyl Kraft Windows is Hiring a Quality Control Manager Near Portsmouth, OH

DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Lead the daily implementation of Vinyl Kraft's Quality Management System, to include quality assurance practices and quality control measures. The Quality Manager must be a "hands on" leader and heavily engaged with production, customer service and customers to ensure that the production team is meeting customer expectations. This role requires excellent communication and computer skills, specifically in the development of Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads planning, development and implementation of the Quality Control Plan and system from production of windows through to final customer acceptance.
  • Oversee all policy standards to ensure they are implemented, practiced and maintained.
  • Maintain quality metrics and implement applicable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance for the implementation and adherence of all quality programs internally and with material suppliers.
  • Provide technical support to plant management regarding process/product improvements.
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements and following up on work results.
  • Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
  • Maintains quality assurance staff job results by planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Communicate any issues that may arise to the production and operations managers.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of experience working in a quality assurance system

Skills and Abilities:

  • Know root cause failure analysis methods ( Five Whys, RCFA, PDCA or FMEA)
  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Have experience performing process audits and understand how to respond to any nonconformance.
  • High level proficiency of written and verbal communication required. Must be well organized and be able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Preferred experience: Lean or Six Sigma.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
