Vinsys Inc is Hiring a Technical Writer Near Bethesda, MD

Location: Bethesda, Maryland (Hybrid Onsite)

Technology Objective:

  • The NIA Information Technology Branch (ITB) has developed a variety of software applications that support administrative and Grants Management processes and functions. ITB provides directors, branch chiefs, program managers, program officers, budget officers, scientists, and administrative and support staff with software solutions and tools necessary to manage their workload, to perform daily work assignments and to quickly share, exchange and disseminate information to the appropriate staff members internal and external to the NIA community.
  • Supporting the Information Technology Branch in reviewing and updating existing materials, producing new high-quality documentation, and other administrative tasks.

Stakeholder Support

  • Work with appropriate critical partners and stakeholder teams to include timely, project reviews and reports on them to the NIA’s ITAC (Information Technology Advisory Committee).
  • Collaborate with all functional business units within NIA ITB to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.

Technical Documentation

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, project managers, developers, business analysts, and support staff, to gather information, clarify technical concepts, conduct quality assurance, and produce end-user documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve written policies and procedures across the Information Technology Branch.
  • Participate in meetings, demos, and working sessions to understand product features, functionalities, and requirements needed to develop technical documentation.
  • Develop, edit, review, and maintain a variety of briefings, policies, standard operating procedures, user manuals, newsletters, SharePoint pages, guidelines, and puts in place the logical arrangement of content; ensuring content is accurate, clear, and consistent with other published documents.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and easy-to-understand language suitable for intended audience.
  • Incorporate user feedback and best practices to enhance the user experience of documentation.
  • Evaluate and provides assessments of technical documents.
  • Review documentation for grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, redundancy, composition, style, etc. and makes the necessary updates. This includes structuring documents logically and intuitively, making information easy to find and understand.
  • Compile data from diverse sources, extracts critical information, and conducts analyses to develop written reports and presentations.
  • Develop style guides, templates, and standards for technical documentation.
  • Plan, organize, and track all technical writing related work, including defining scope, setting timelines, and prioritizing.
  • Maintain documentation repositories and version control systems to manage documentation effectively.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
