We are currently seeking a full time experienced Veterinary Technician. We are a full service, 1 doctor small animal hospital with a small boarding facility located in the Disney/Dr. Phillips area.

We are looking for a long term, reliable individual who has at least 3 years’ experience as a veterinary technician. Surgical assisting and anesthesia monitoring experience is a must. Being crossed trained with reception and working knowledge of Avimark is a plus.

Must be flexible with scheduling, including Saturdays.

Successful candidates will be comfortable caring for surgical and hospitalized patients as well as educating and engaging clients in rooms. Candidates should be comfortable talking with clients, going over treatment estimates and explaining medications.

Basic tasks include but are not limited to:

• Performing radiographs
• Knowledge of safe animal restraint
• Iv catheter placement and venipuncture
• Be able to take a detailed medical history
• Assisting doctor in exam room
• Knowledge of Feline and Canine vaccines
• Knowledge of flea and heartworm preventatives
• Performing general housekeeping and janitorial duties
• Answering phones
• Money handling
• Assisting in surgery and anesthesia monitoring
• Administering injections and oral medication
• Able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend and pick up 40 lbs or more.
• Perform dental cleaning and extractions
