EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

TITLE: Seasonal Parks Crew

DEPARTMENT: Parks, Buildings and Grounds

DATE &TIME APPLICATION DUE: Open until positions filled

STARTING SALARY: $18 per hour

HOURS: Days, evenings and weekends as assigned

Up to 40 hours per week and 1000 hours per season

Additional hours as assigned

DUTIES: Performs routine rotation of the grass cutting, baseball fields, refuse removal, landscaping, misc. project support and support at Village special events. May be required to provide set-up, clean-up and supervision of programs and private rentals. Regularly works with the public and Parks and Recreation staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions, work well independently, and work in a safe manner.
Must be extremely courteous and responsive to the needs of the public and fellow employees.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Must be able to accommodate a variable and flexible schedule, be reliable and arrive on time.
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid IL drivers license.
Must be able to pass background check.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Must be able to quickly and accurately complete baseball, soccer and other athletic field layouts and have thorough knowledge of field maintenance.
Must be able to efficiently adjust field preparation and maintenance schedule in response to athletic program scheduling changes often with short notice.
Must be able to operate ball field machine and clean it thoroughly after use.
At Village events will clean restrooms, program rooms, program tables and fixtures, empty and pick up trash
Assists with mowing, weed whacking and misc. landscaping.
Performs job responsibilities safely and in compliance with Village policies.
