The Village of Orland Park’s Sportsplex facility is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Youth Soccer Coach. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing recreation department pre-school and youth soccer programs. Instructor will create a lesson plan for assigned athletic/recreation program(s) along with, and under the direction of the Supervisor. Instructor will teach children the fundamentals of athletic program. The instructor will create a fun, positive and memorable athletic experience while developing sports specific knowledge and teamwork.
This position is ideal for a sports-minded individual currently pursuing a degree in recreation or sports management or sports focused individual who enjoys working with children. A friendly, efficient and service-minded attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm are key for this role. Previous children sports experience, and customer service experience are helpful.
Prior experience working recreational and/or sports programs is required. Knowledge of sports fundamentals required. Prior high school level or above direct sports participation is highly preferred. Must be energetic, enthusiastic and enjoy working with children.
Schedule is Saturday mornings, approximately 6 hours total per week. Refer to the current Program Guide’s Athletic Section available at www.orlandpark.org for a complete listing of current programming, days/times.
