Position Overview:

As Chief of Police, you will have the opportunity to lead our police department in serving and protecting our community. You will work closely with village officials, residents, and local organizations to ensure the safety and well-being of our community members. The Chief of Police will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of law enforcement operations, including patrol, investigations, community outreach, and crime prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide leadership and direction to the police department staff

· Develop and implement department policies and procedures

· Coordinate with other law enforcement agencies and community partners

· Foster positive relationships with residents and businesses

· Ensure effective response to emergencies and enforcement of laws

· Manage department budget and resources

Qualifications:

· Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

· Commitment to community-oriented policing and problem-solving

· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

· Education – minimum of 60 college credits

· Must have previous full-time experience

Salary:

We offer an attractive compensation package for this position, with a competitive salary range of $68,000 to $85,000, along with an outstanding benefits package.
