Hours Needed:

Full Time: Tues-Sat 8 am-4pm

Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform housekeeping and laundry functions throughout the community in order to create a safe, secure, and inviting environment for residents, families and team members. Assist in the supervision of the housekeeping staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices.

2. Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets and runners. Rotate runners in hallways and entryways.

3. Clean, sanitize, and polish both lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary.

4. Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture; dust desk and floor lamps, clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills.

5. Scrub bath and shower room tiles, wood work, window frames and sills.

6. Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.

7. Collect trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas.

8. Responsible for transporting supplies, to include clean and soiled linen, to the appropriate storage and collection areas.

9. Responsible for collecting, cleaning and redistributing the community laundry.

10. Responsible for maintaining the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition.

11. Ensure cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use.

12. Ensure any cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes.

13. Provide supervision to housekeeping staff to assure delivery of consistently high quality service to residents.

14. Report any needed repairs to the Director of Environmental Services.

15. Report supply and equipment needs to the Director of Environmental Services for replenishing.

16. Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

10. Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.

11. Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.

12. Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meetings as assigned or requested.

13. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families, consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers.

14. Observe all community safety policies and procedures.

15. Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.

16. Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.

17. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy.

18. Assume accountability for data contained in the employee handbook.

19. Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.

20. Observe infection control procedures.

21. Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.

22. Observe all community policies and procedures.

23. Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures.

24. Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff.

25. Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Six (6) months experience in housekeeping preferred

QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations. Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community. Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable in your state.
