Summary of the director of plant operations position: The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the physical facilities of the skilled nursing facility. This includes maintenance, repairs, renovations, safety, housekeeping, and capital improvement projects. The Director of Plant Operations plays a critical role in ensuring that the facility is safe, functional, and compliant with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities of the director of plant operations:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive facility maintenance and repair program
• Supervise and manage a team of maintenance technicians and housekeeping staff
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance and safety issues
• Coordinate and oversee all facility renovation and construction projects
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to building safety and maintenance
• Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related issues and support their needs
• Develop and manage the facility's budget for maintenance and capital improvement projects
• Implement policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Respond to emergency situations and provide leadership and direction in crisis management

Qualifications of the director of plant operations:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or construction in a skilled nursing facility setting
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for skilled nursing facilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and facility management systems
