POSITION TITLE
The Receptionist job description will provide the scope of the position for the facility Department: AdministrationReports to: Administrator
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist assumes phone system responsibilities, greet residents, families, visitors, volunteers, auxiliary and staff. Monitors lobby entrance, COVID screening and completes general office responsibilities while ensuring a safe environment.
POSITION RELATIONSHIP
As Receptionist, you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.PROFESSIONAL
Ability to communicate, keep order and enforce safety rulesb.
Ability to work well with those who have physical or mental limitationsc.
High school diploma.
Previous receptionist experience is desirablee.
Experience in a long-term care setting preferred2.
PERSONAL
a.Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written
b.Must have knowledge and awareness of the care needs of the elderly and/or chronicallyill.
c.Must have basic computer skills.d.Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant suchaction.
b .Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members,visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
c. Knowledge of elderly ill and/or disabled.
d. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
e. Basic understanding of following step-by-step procedures.
f. Follows and understands written and oral directions.
g. Knowledge of equipment used in long-term care (e.g., lifts, wheelchairs, Geri chairs, andscales).
h. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
