Café Barista & Alcohol Server

We are a locally owned coffee shop and marketplace looking to fill a part-time barista and alcohol service position. Please review the details below. We are willing to train, if a candidate meets our basic requirements.

We are focused on providing a welcoming customer experience, outstanding specialty coffee beverages, marketplace goods and quick grab and go food items in downtown Poulsbo, WA.

Position Overview: Coffee shop and marketplace in downtown Poulsbo, WA is looking for a part-time, experienced barista to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, punctual, and reliable individual who can work several shifts per week (weekend availability required). The ability to work efficiently is essential. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills necessary.

Essential Job Duties:

• Make quality espresso beverages following specific recipes.
• Provide outstanding service to every customer (greet customers, answer questions regarding menu and ingredients, etc.)
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. milk preference, sweetness level, etc.)
• Serve beverages and prepared food, such as cookies, pastries and muffins. Some minor heating for some food items is required.
• Monitor equipment for proper function and report any maintenance needs to management.
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Maintain cleanliness and safety guidelines in work area and throughout cafe.
• Keep coffee, food products, and merchandise stocked.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in and around the shop during each shift.
• Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist to perform duties, as well as lift and move up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Effectively communicate with co-workers and ownership
• Other duties as assigned.

• Dedicated team player with ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail with presentation, preparation and cleanliness
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-moving environment.
• Self-motivated and independent work on occasion
• Ability to work on your feet for up to six hours per day

What we need from you:

• At least 21 years of age
• Have or able to obtain a valid food handler permit
• Have or able to obtain a MAST permit
• Morning availability
• Weekend availability
• One year barista experience is preferred
• Outstanding attendance and punctuality

Schedule:

• 4-6 hour shifts
• Morning and afternoon shifts
• Weekend availability required
