Position Requirements & Responsibilities: (These requirements are in addition to any and all Viewrail employment requirements and policies.)
Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Fleet Manager position is to oversee the management and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles in compliance with all relevant regulatory compliance requirements and organizational standards. The secondary responsibility of the Fleet Manager is to contribute to the overall goals established by the Environment, Health, and Safety Department and coordinate tasks as requested by the Director of EHS.
This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet, along with flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the organization, which may from time to time include responding to important and emergent events or communications outside of normal business hours.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and continually improve our comprehensive fleet management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory compliance and Viewrail standards.
  • Manage, coordinate, and/or assist the procuring, decommissioning, selling, leasing, insuring, and maintaining of company vehicles, including trucks, cars, powered industrial vehicles, trailers, and applicable specialty equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet operations to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and expectations of Viewrail.
  • Oversee driver training programs to promote safe driving practices and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support fleet-related initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet inventory, maintenance history, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of vehicles, facilities, and drivers to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to fleet management and fleet safety.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to any and all stakeholders. Including situations of addressing risk, nonconformances, or corrective actions.
  • Provide flexibility by meeting the expectations of the organization by strategically adjusting working hours outside of normal office hours on a case-by-case basis to accommodate organizational needs.
  • All other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and typical fleet management software.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure adaptability and flexibility with ever-changing priorities and business needs

  • National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA)
  • National Private Truck Council (NPTC)
  • Fleet Management Weekly (FMW)
  • Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA)
  • National Safety Council (NSC)
  • American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and/or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general EHS aspects, impacts, and functions.
