Job Title:Chargeback Manager/Director

Compensation: $90-120k

SummaryThe Chargeback Manager/Director will ensure effective chargeback management processes and be an active participant in a “roll up your sleeves” environment. They should be able to microfocus on details with great follow up skills and able to manage multiple tasks. They will be responsible for overseeing collections, cash application, chargeback resolution, processing and reconciling vendor and customer disputes, posting chargeback credit card charges, maintaining documentation of chargebacks, and updating revenue reports when necessary. Strength in reporting and analyzing all related data is a must. Also, partner with Director of Compliance to ensure full compliance and future violation prevention for all aspects of the operations process. Previous experience in a Consumer Product business working with all channels of retail distribution is critical.

Key Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Research and resolve high volume of customer deductions/chargebacks pertaining to shipping violation claims, allowances, discounts, damages, pricing, and shortages.
  • Dispute and research on customer portals (Kohl’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Walmart, etc.)
  • Interact with internal departments during the process of validating deductions
  • Shortages, pull POD’s from share drive and submit to the Customer’s Portal
  • Submit Non-Compliance Chargebacks Internally to Shipping, EDI, Production Departments by providing correct Chargeback reason and correct brand
  • Submit Non-Compliance Chargebacks Denials to the Customers through their portals
  • Dispute invalid deductions within the claim’s expiration time-frame, and follow through until resolved
  • Prepare and submit necessary adjustments for processing
  • Reconciliation of RA’s (Return Authorization) deductions
  • Maintain transaction update notes current in both Excel CB status list, and on the account
  • Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line
  • Review transactions for accuracy and reconcile customer accounts
  • Partner with Director of Compliance to identify all chargeback claims received from all customers and vendors and plan process improvement to make them stop.
  • Manage customer complaints or inquiries regarding dispute claims.
  • Analyze and discuss information received during the dispute investigation with associates, customers, vendor(s).
  • Maintain the aging of deductions/chargebacks and keep current through monitoring, researching, and resolving in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10 years of working experience in related area with AT LEAST 5 years’ experience as Chargeback Manager/Director or Accounting/Accounts Receivable with heavy focus on Chargebacks in a consumer product business with revenue exceeding $100M; Experience in Vendor Compliance is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, specifically general ledger and inventory systems is a MUST; Knowledge of Infor M3 a plus.
