Mobile Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobile Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Victory Wound Care. This position involves traveling to provide advanced wound care treatments to patients in home health settings and skilled nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound care, excellent patient interaction skills, and the ability to work independently while managing a travel schedule encompassing the Central Texas region.

Employment Type: Part-time contractor to full-time

Location: Greater Central Texas Region (Austin Metro to San Antonio Metro)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform wound care procedures including assessing, cleaning, debriding, dressing, and monitoring wounds of varying stages.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
• Thoroughly document treatment and progress in patient records, ensuring compliance with Medicare and other insurers’ requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate care with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Stay informed on the latest wound care techniques and standards, incorporating evidence-based practices into patient care through continuing education and training.
• Ensure adherence to internal protocols and local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the Texas
• Preferred: 2 years' experience in wound care and/or providing mobile or home health care.
• Proficiency in using digital health records and mobile communication tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel extensively to patient homes and facilities within the Central Texas service area.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds and frequently work at floor level, which involves bending and kneeling.

Compensation:

• Depending on availability and experience, the position pays a full-time equivalent salary range between $75,000 and 94,000.
• Mileage reimbursement for any miles driven over 50 miles in a single day.
