Victory Recovery Partners is a mission-driven Outpatient Recovery Center. We are unique in that we provide a one stop location for multiple services such as Medication Assisted Treatment, Wellness, Behavioral Health, and Psychiatry under one roof. It is our mission to provide care with dignity and respect in comfortable and welcoming settings. Since our initial opening in Farmingville, we have expanded our services to include four additional locations - in Hempstead, Hicksville, Massapequa Park and Shirley. We have also opened our first Methadone Center and we intend to open other locations throughout Long Island and beyond so that we can increase access to high quality substance use care. Job Summary: The Medical Director will report directly to the CEO and oversee all of the company’s MAT, psychiatric, and wellness providers in addition to rendering direct patient care. This pivotal role involves supervising provider staffing, offering guidance on complex medical decisions, and spearheading Victory's quality assurance initiatives. As the foremost subject matter expert, the Medical Director plays a central role in shaping individual patient outcomes and driving the strategic trajectory of our organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

General

  • Serve as the company's definitive subject matter expert, available to medical providers to trouble shoot or answer questions regarding addiction medicine, writ large.
  • Actively represent Victory within the Long Island medical community, including periodic interactions with healthcare referral sources such as hospitals ED's, physician groups, and other addiction recovery services.
  • Contribute positively towards building Victory's unique culture, including 'patients come first' philosophy and effective internal teamwork.

Comprehensive Care

  • Collaborate with the VP of Clinical Affairs to educate counselors and providers on MAT, psychiatric services, and wellness offerings. Review patients’ charts to determine which might be candidates for additional service lines and support.

Staffing

  • Work closely with the VP of Clinical Affairs on provider recruitment efforts.
  • Coach new providers to build their patient base.
  • Find root cause of any scheduling issues and address.

Quality assurance and policy implementation

  • Conduct regular quality assurance assessments of medical records to maintain consistent treatment standards across all locations.
  • Develop clinical policies for new medications or procedures, overseeing their implementation and adherence.
  • Assist providers in navigating complex medical decisions, including appropriate referrals to higher levels of care.

Qualifications & Requirements:

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board Certification in relevant specialty (e.g., Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine).
  • Proven track record of direct involvement in opioid and substance use disorder treatment, with a minimum of three years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of addiction medicine principles and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively and nonjudgmentally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to inspire and develop followership amongst healthcare providers.
  • Active engagement in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
  • Licensure to practice medicine in the state of NY.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
