About Our Area

The Rochester and Finger Lakes area of Upstate NY, features a unique blend of nature, history and innovation. Residents are generally considered to be warmer, kinder and more welcoming than their downstate brethren. Our area is largely a welcoming and friendly place.

During the warmer months, outdoor field days celebrating local artisans, hundreds of different hiking and biking trails through the Finger Lakes and along canals, and different cultures to experience through festivals allow for fun-filled activities every weekend. The warmer months are also prime time for enjoying our beautiful lakes for activities such as boating and paddleboarding, to bring the family to a baseball game at Frontier Field, our nationally recognized lilac festival or to simply enjoy some outdoor dining at our amazing restaurant and brewery scene. During the winter, residents bundle up and head to nearby ski slopes and sledding hills.

One of the reasons many people choose to live in Rochester is its affordability. The cost of living is significantly below the national average, which is likely why families choose to move to the area and stay.
