Vicinity Energy is Hiring a Payroll/HRIS Analyst Near Boston, MA

Summary
The Payroll/HRIS Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for the payroll function including day-to-day processing, tax and compliance, garnishments. Reporting to the Payroll/HRIS Manager, this position works closely with site managers to ensure payroll is accurate as it relates to varying pay policies including pay practices for eight collective bargaining agreements. This position is also responsible for W-2 reconciliation and year-end payroll reporting in collaboration with the Payroll/HRIS Manager. This is a full-time exempt position located at our Corporate HQ in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Payroll
  • Accurately process full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing both weekly and bi-weekly using Dayforce HCM
  • Review timesheet data, tax information, direct deposit, new hire, and terminated employee processing.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and related documentation for payroll processing.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency, consulting with the Payroll/HRIS Manager to enhance payroll and HRIS processes.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Labor Relations Manager to address any payroll-related CBA disputes.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits Manager to ensure leave of absence-related company payments are processed appropriately.
HRIS
  • System maintenance, testing, and documentation of procedures.
  • Build and maintain ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Provide training and support to end users.
  • Responsible for ensuring people data is accurate in our systems and partnering with key stakeholders to assist with reporting needs and data requests including employment verifications, audits, ad hoc business requests, etc.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience with full-cycle payroll processing across multi-state and local jurisdictions.
  • 3 years' experience in the knowledge, design, and implementation of HR systems (Dayforce preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution (equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) required with Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend and effectively interpret information requests.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and communicate observations and recommendations in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements
  • Typical office environment including heavy computer usage and sitting for long periods of time. A fast-paced, varied environment is expected with this position.
  • Must submit to a company provided pre-employment drug screening.
