Due to continued growth at VR, we are expanding our IT department to include a full-time Systems Administrator. Although we are a global leader in our field, we are still a small, community-oriented, family owned and operated company in the heart of West Michigan. As our Systems Administrator, your focus will be to:

  • Lead security efforts and initiatives - staying at the cutting edge of trends and updates both with cybersecurity and physical security
  • Perform installations, configurations, and maintenance of systems, software, hardware and infrastructure
  • Drive infrastructure updates, backups and webserver maintenance
  • Research and recommend improvements to operating systems to meet organizational needs
  • Provide internal support by troubleshooting Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, Windows, network file shares, printers with on-site users at their workstations
  • Assist with new computer system set-ups through defined, consistent procedures
  • Train, maintain and support the use of Office 365 applications
  • Manage the set up and support of Shortel phone system
  • Track IT assets – software and hardware

We believe a successful Systems Administrator will need to come equipped with:

  • Degree (or working towards degree) and/or background in related Computer Science field - although a completed degree is not required, it’s strongly preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of proven success, progressively working with security, systems, hardware, and end-users - required
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills - required
  • Ability to work effectively either on independent projects or within a team and supporting a team - required
