Key responsibilities for this role include :

Ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.

Know and comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI). Review and recommend SOP(s) and Work Instructions as required.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment to established 6S Standards.

Practice safe lifting and carrying in accordance with EHS guidelines.

Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.

Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.

Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.

Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.

Assists with structural pest control measures.

Maintains records and logs of daily activities.

Perform snow removal as needed.

Be an active member in site improvement projects, helping to streamline the process, maximize efficiencies, eliminate waste, and help implement improvements to achieve company goals.

i.e. Kaizen events, 6S audits, etc.).

Assist with janitorial duties at both facilities as required which may include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, mopping and cleaning lunchrooms and restrooms.

Support Continuous improvement efforts to achieve company goals.

Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS Facilities Manager.

The minimum qualifications for this role are :

Minimum of a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years of facilities maintenance experience, preferred. However, a combination of experience and / or education will be taken into consideration.

Illinois Driver’s License.

Ability to read and interpret general business documents. Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.

Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.

Moderate physical demand. Continuous / frequent lifting / moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs / 11-27 kgs) and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials or strenuous activity.

Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and climb steps. May require use of hands and use of arms to lift and scoop.

May require dexterity, reaching and turning of upper body

May be required to lift or maneuver boxes or containers using lifting equipment as well as physically pushing, rolling or lifting.

May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to : Respiratory protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and protective clothing.

Must be able to stand extended periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Computer entry / typing.
