JOB TITLE: TOOL QUOTING MANAGER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Global Tooling Services’ Tool Quoting Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of tool quoting for Viant Medical. The tool quoting process includes understanding requirements from our customer and commercial team through the request for quote, RFQ, intake process through to execution of completed customer facing tool quote package. The Tool Quote Manager is also responsible for being the external face of Global Tooling providing the best solutions to meet customer needs.
Another key role of the Tool Quoting Manager will be to work closely with the Director, Engineering Solutions on management of Global Tooling Services’ mold shop supply base. As the Global Tooling Service group roles out strategies, the Tool Quoting Manager will need to support those initiatives. An example is aligning the Viant Tooling Manual with the strategies and processes that are implemented as part of the strategy. The Tool Quoting Manager will need to work with internal and external customers and suppliers to roll out our new quote processes and tool solutions demonstrating the value of the Global Tooling Service group.

The Global Tooling Group drives synergies between the manufacturing plants and external customers by providing competitive, high quality, highly repeatable tooling in order to achieve medical solutions.

GTS drives synergies between the manufacturing plants and external customers by providing competitive, high quality, highly repeatable tooling in order to achieve medical solutions. GTS supports the plastics group at Viant Medical to be a global integrated solutions partner for the design, engineering, and manufacturing of complex medical devices and components.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage and execute all aspects of tool quoting internally and externally, interacting with commercial team, estimating team, Viant sites, customers, as needed.
2. Manage relationship with mold shop partners to deliver on quoting needs and delivering consistent quotes aligned to Viant tool manual.
3. Develop and maintain system to hold tool shop accountable to fair pricing.
4. Engage customers on tool quote needs via email, calls, site visits, etc
5. Ensuring quote accuracy against internal & external customer needs.
6. Weekly and monthly reporting on status of active quoting for business.
7. Weekly and monthly reporting on past quoted business for understanding of win performance.
8. Development and execution of quick turn 24 hour quoting leveraging should costing or other appropriate models.
9. Management of approved supplier list.
10. Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

• 10 years of experience in tool quoting.
• Tooling Engineer experience and or Journeyman Mold Maker certification is preferred
• Strong knowledge of plastic injection tool building, plastic injection tool design, and processing injection tools
• Proficiency with MS Office software suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to resolve quote issues with customers and plants.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; yet strong collaboration skills are required.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and be results-oriented.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills, Detail oriented
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks software to review part and mold designs

EDUCATION GUIDELINES

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline with at least 3-5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree in business or engineering is preferred
