ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·Coordinate and lead the company safety committee.Monthly attendance, notes, actions, and results will be maintained with the expectation of placing them on a SharePoint site to be viewed at any time.Visible advocate for safety across the facilities engaging team members at all levels in the adoption of best practices for safety.

·The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for a full yearly calendar of scheduled events and regular location visits to include site issues, required updates and consistent record keeping across the operations.

·Develop and execute an annual budget, short-term plans, activities, and awareness items along with items to help drive long-term improvement.

·In-depth knowledge of the regulatory compliance and reporting requirements with federal, state, and local codes and standards. Additional training and awareness to maintain this knowledge will be required.

·Coordinate with others to continually provide risk prevention consultation in all areas, including hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fire, or other unsafe conditions.

·Main contact to help aid, facilitate and resolve insurance claims.

·Work closely with our Learning and Development team to facilitate training such as Safe Work Practices and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. They will also coordinate with other leaders on ongoing safety and security training and compliance.

·Collaborate with operational leadership to help establish and maintain metrics to track and improve processes and training programs related to safety awareness, incidents, and company trends.

·Promote and maintain the highest possible environment of service, teamwork, and collaboration.

·Ensure accuracy and consistency of safety documentation. Be sure all documentation is placed in a central shareable location for easy access with an attention to strong organizational details.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, safety, or another related field. 2-3 years’ experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Ability to work with highly confidential information and documentation with discretion. Demonstrated project and team leadership abilities. In-depth knowledge of safety management body of knowledge, including NFPA, OSHA, EPA, DENR, and ISO standards relating to safety. Commitment to continuing education in safety. Ability to develop and deliver training to a large group environment. Business acumen to work with all levels of leadership. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office. Ability to conduct investigations and discern issues to make recommendations based on findings. Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify Risk, SWOT analysis and agree with peers on priorities to address. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members. Ability to be flexible and multitask. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Limited travel as needed.

Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
