We are seeking a friendly and energetic dental assistant for our practice. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced in following protocols for safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.

As one of the first faces that clients will see when they enter our doors, the dental assistant should possess a natural excitement for helping people and making them feel comfortable.

The assistant will offer support to the lead dentist before, during, and after patient examinations and treatments. In addition, the assistant will prepare rooms and equipment for all appointments and help maintain operational efficiency throughout the day.

Objectives of this role

• Support the lead dentist by assisting with surgical and nonsurgical tasks
• Improve operational efficiency of the practice
• Help the practice maintain a reputation for offering outstanding client experiences
• Ensure a clean, sanitary workspace at all times

Responsibilities

• Sanitize dental equipment thoroughly before and after every use
• Monitor usage of supply inventory and minimize waste
• Review patient background and gather health information
• Communicate oral hygiene and tooth care information to patients
• Organize, sanitize, and coordinate restocking of dental equipment and supplies

Required skills and qualifications

• Familiarity with commonly used dental instruments and sanitizing practices
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Aptitude for being consistently organized and precise
• Ability to navigate electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a dental assistant
• Certification in using X-ray technology and related equipment
