ABOUT THE POSITION

Graphic Designers at an engineering firm? Yes! VHB is seeking a Creative Design Specialist to join our corporate graphic design team supporting our 35 east coast offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and diverse team on a wide variety of projects spanning marketing, business development, employee culture and events, and client materials.

VHB’s network of award-winning, in-house creative design teams think critically and strategically to create clear, compelling visual communications while ensuring brand consistency. We partner with marketers, project managers, and business leaders, demonstrating how design can add value to projects and help expand upon ideas to enhance our communities and the world around us.

ABOUT YOU

Are you a visual storyteller? Curious and creative? Strategic and tech-savvy? Our team is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and passionate graphic designer to elevate our messages and strategies through high-quality digital and print communication pieces. This individual will be comfortable conceptualizing, presenting, and producing design ideas and solutions, both independently and collaboratively.

Candidates will be requested to show design portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Supports graphic design and preparation efforts through all phases of development and final production of materials, which may include dynamic presentations, employee engagement initiatives, internal promotional and communication materials, and/or external visibility projects
• Participates in and presents at kick-off meetings, check-ins, and final review meetings
• Executes and collaborates on design assignments based on creative concepts, design briefs, project vision, and experience goals
• Assists with consistent design solutions across multiple channels and products (e.g., digital communications, social media, video, email, print, and web design)
• Serves as brand and culture ambassador and builds best practices
• Learns, uses, and adheres to templates and imagery policies
• Verifies deliverables comply with VHB corporate branding standards, formats, and template styles
• Ensures QA/QC standards are met while adhering to deadlines and budgets
• Conceptualizes, collaborates, and executes on design briefs and assignments while maintaining project vision
• Coordinates interaction with third parties, including print vendors, photographers, and advertisers
• Actively learns about VHB’s culture, leadership, organizational goals, markets, and services

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of graphic design experience, preferably in A/E/C environment
• BFA in Graphic Design or related discipline
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs, including InDesign and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Skills in photography, video, animation, email and web design, and social media preferred
• Involvement in industry affiliations, preferred (ie. AIGA)

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $65,000-$72,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education and experience
