This position is located in Parsippany, NJ. All Candidates must live within 30 miles of Parsippany, NJ

The On-Site Construction Coordinator is the linchpin that ensures the seamless execution and completion of all our on-site needs. They manage the smooth on-site operation, facilitate effective communication, ensure the presence, quality, and efficient use of materials, confirm attendance and work of contractors, maintain site safety and cleanliness, and be the trusted task runner for materials, coffee, and anything else that keeps our teams humming efficiently.

The ideal On-Site Construction Coordinator is a blend of an efficient runner, overseer, and hands-on problem solver. They leverage experience in construction or related industries, show attention to detail, and possess a proactive problem-solving mindset. They excel in dynamic environments, can anticipate challenges, and calmly dive in to resolve issues before they escalate.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily job site and material supervision:
  • Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and presentable.
  • Verify the presence of scheduled contractors and report any deviations.
  • Ensure ordered materials match the delivery and report any discrepancies and/or quality issues.
  • Purchase and pick up any missing or needed materials, tools, and lunches when needed.
  • Communication:
  • Be the eyes and ears on the ground for our project manager to ensure projects and contractors move forward without delays.
  • Assessing, gathering, and elevating on-site issues to the project manager proactively.
  • Complete daily job site logs, project site photos, and job reports.
  • Problem-Solving On-The-Spot Issues:
  • Assist with any on-site contractor quality and scope of work tasks.
  • Solve for misplacements of materials, dumpsters, porta-potties, fences, etc.
  • Getting hands dirty for small fixes and cleanup and preparing for inspections.
  • On-Site Administration Tasks:
  • Be on-site, oversee, and work with all inspectors for project inspections.
  • Handle building department paperwork and submissions.
  • Procurement of samples and material alternatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Work truck preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with contractors, suppliers, and inspectors.
  • Proficient in assessing, sourcing, and evaluating materials and alternative options.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and tools is preferred.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments and remains calm under pressure.
  • Capable of multitasking without compromising on quality and consistently following through on commitments.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong attention to accuracy and precision.
  • Excels in a collaborative environment and possesses excellent team management and motivation skills, working effectively with diverse teams ranging from contractors to management.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues before they become problematic.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, capable of working under pressure and finding creative solutions to overcome obstacles and achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and neighbors, especially in challenging or upset situations.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Full Time
  • Starting salary at $23 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • PTO
