Introduction

The Design Specialist (DS) is responsible for processing evaluations to produce ADA compliant CAD drawings in accordance with procedural timelines. In addition, the DS is responsible for updating project data in the database and ensuring that communications with the Project Service Center (PSC) stay up to date. The assigned Project Coordinator (PC) for the area is to be informed along the way to ensure quality project end results and overall happiness of the Veteran. Additional responsibilities include performing component maintenance within the CAD program, cross coverage, and maintaining updated product knowledge of our various manufacturing partners.

The DS reports directly to the Senior Design Specialist and participates in weekly PSC meetings, contributing to the overall success of the PSC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluation Review and Layout Completion
• Conduct review of evaluations for ADA compliance
• Generate a CAD layout of the project and submit it to the PSC
• Communicate with PC if there are issues that would prevent completion
• Update VAD3 notes as necessary
• Supply ADA Compliant Solutions to PSC
• Ensure all projects comply with current ADA guidelines
• Provide alternate ADA compliant solutions for non-compliant submissions

Secondary Responsibilities

• CAD component maintenance
• Cross coverage as needed
• Stay updated with current ADA guidelines and Manufacturer equipment specifications
• Other duties as needed.

Job Skills

• Basic knowledge of building/construction
• Can efficiently use Office including Outlook and Teams
• 2D and CAD experience preferred but not required
• Part-time to start, possible expansion of hours if needed
• Attention to detail
• Capable of independent time management
• Possess critical thinking skills
• HS Diploma or Equivalent

Job Type: Full-time
