Veterinary Specialty Services is looking to add talented experienced Veterinary Technicians to our surgery team at our Manchester location. We are hiring for full time and this position will have a consistent schedule each week but may include some evening work based on caseload. Our specialty technicians work directly with our veterinarians in the department to provide advanced patient care and client communication. We also promote teamwork across our hospital. VSS has provided advanced specialized care and emergency veterinary services to the Saint Louis area and beyond for 30 years. We are offering a hiring bonus for experienced Veterinary Technicians!!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Running patient anesthesia - including intubating patients, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assisting.
• Post-op patient recovery monitoring
• Perform physical exams on veterinary patients including obtaining vitals (TPRs, CRTs etc.)
• Properly perform medical treatments on hospitalized patients including administering PO, IM, Sub Q and IV medications
• Observing patients and recognize subtle changes in status
• Checking in clients after hours, enter charges, process payments, retrieve previous medical history
• Performing drug calculations including CRI calculations and calculating fluid rates.

• (RVT) Registered Veterinary Technician (or LVT in other states) or have the ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.
• Two to four years of previous veterinary technician experience.
• Previous veterinary experience at a Specialty Veterinary Hospital or Emergency Hospital is preferred.
• Highly motivated, team players, with a positive attitude. Additionally, you must be able to work efficiently, with an emphasis on multi-tasking and prioritization, and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
