Description

Privately owned small animal emergency practice seeks a dynamic, experienced veterinary technician with strong training and people development skill as our Emergency Technician Manager. Must enjoy working with people as well as pets, and value an engaged work environment where we help all our technical staff succeed. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are critical. RVT/ LVT/ CVT, at least 2 years’ supervisory experience in a technical role, and excellent emergency technical skills are required. Experience with EzyVet and/or SmartFlow is a plus.

Requirements

• Work with the Practice Manager, Client Experience Manager, and Practice owner on effective communication and hospital policies
• Oversee our technical team of RVTs, veterinary assistants, and kennel assistants, including developing shift leads to help in these tasks
• Subject-matter expert on technical nursing skills, patient care, and daily operations
• Training and reviews of technical staff for continuous skill development
• Communication with staff of ongoing policy and procedure development
• Develop and publish technical staff schedules.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring new technical staff
