Veterans NW Construction is Hiring a Construction Superintendent / Quality Control Manager Near Bremerton, WA

Candidate's primary role will be to run the day to day operations on the construction site, control the project schedule and coordinate the quality control and subcontractor responsibilities with the project manager. Majority of projects are located in the Puget Sound region on various Federal Installations. We have a need for candidates in the Bremerton area. Successful candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

-Familiar with all aspects of horizontal and vertical construction.

-Able to perform surveillance quality control inspection on multiple crews and subcontractors.

-Demonstrated experience implementing comprehensive quality control programs for a variety of construction tasks.

-Demonstrated experience scheduling and coordinating subcontractors.

-Demonstrated experience enforcing safety codes and regulations. Must practice safe work habits at all times by understanding, following, and enforcing company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures; wearing prescribed safety apparel; and taking appropriate action when conditions threaten safety of self or coworkers.

-Strong working knowledge of project scheduling, phasing, sequencing, and plan review.

-Ability to verify accuracy of dimensions of installations and layouts.

-Ability to observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.

-Capable of examining quality of finished work for compliance and provide approval for installation.

-Able to interpret drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with specifications and other regulations governing construction.

-Capable of maintaining detailed records of quantities of materials received or used during specified periods and maintaining detailed daily log of construction and inspection activities.

-Able to prepare as-builds to record deviations from master plans.

-Self-starter with good documentation skills.

-Strong communication skills, including professional interface with owners, engineers/architects, subcontractors, vendors, in-house workers, and other members of the project team.

-Able to meet challenges and deadlines while maintaining quality and safety goals.

-Able to develop and maintain relationships with project personnel, the customer, subcontractors and other third-party representatives impacting the outcome of the project.

-Demonstrated proficiency using computer and company communication tools, such as email, internet, Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook) and PDF software.

Job Requirements:

- U.S. Citizen who is able to pass background check for access to Federal Installations

-Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or willing to be vaccinated to meet 09SEP2021 Executive Order on COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors.

-Must have ability to wear PPE, carry 20 lbs on uneven terrain, climb a ladder and traverse construction sites safely.

- 10 years of construction related experience with Superintendent: 5 years as a working Superintendent or Quality Control Manager: 2 years working as Quality Control Manager and total of 5 years as Super, QC or PM.

- 5 years of Federal government construction experience (State or other Government experience will be considered)

- Valid state driver’s license

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF (Adobe or BlueBeam) and be familiar MS Project or Primavera scheduling software

- Able to self-perform some minor scopes of work; carpentry, drywall, cleaning, demo, etc.

- Ability to estimate projects/Change Orders

- OSHA 30, CPR & First Aid trained or able to obtain certificates

- USACE Quality Control and 40-hr EM385-1-1 Safety Training/Certifications or able to obtain certificates.
