Duties
"VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Duties of the Registered Nurse Readiness Coordinator include, but are not limited to: Promotes a culture of high reliability and safety within the system and partners with clinical and operational support staff to assure standards and regulatory requirements are met in an environment of continual readiness efficacy.
Continually evaluates and improves processes, activities, learning, and communication within these programs.
Provides Readiness education and partners with education and management to integrate continual readiness and high reliability approaches in department/unit activities and processes.
Manages and utilized a variety of automated software systems and supporting processes for Continual Readiness and Quality Management (including but not limited to): TJC Secured Extranet, VISN Share Point, and CPRS.
Functions as back up for the Office of Director Quality Coordinator to coordinate and manage External Peer Review program, Clinical Reminders, and Medical Office of Day Ongoing professional practice audits.
Provides useable, relevant data to the organization about results, issues, and progress in continual readiness, promotion of high reliability, and patient safety.
Collaborates with operations/clinical owners to develop preventative and corrective action plans for identified findings or gaps in service and coordinates organizational responses to same.
Utilizes rigorous systematic, data driven continuous improvement approaches to promote strong leadership, patient safety, system redesign, and high reliability.
Proactively identifies high risk/out of compliance areas, establishes communications and action plans to address, partners with operations to establish internal controls, implement resolutions, and measurable outcomes.
Leads/facilitates improvement teams Manages and responds to communications/notices from TJC, OIG, and NCPS, including timely communication, notification, resolution, and documentation of same.
Partners with the local and regional counterparts to identify and implement best practices.
Facilitates in the coordination of accreditation program specific reviews and preparation for internal and external reviews.
Assists in ensuring processes are in place to meet the established standards of the accreditation program specific reviews.
Programs include Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission, and Annual Workplace Evaluation (AWE).Completes Joint Commission and CARF applications.
Develop policy guidance, motivational materials, and information to facilitate staff compliance.
Conduct or coordinate tracers throughout the Black Hills Health Care System and rural CBOC's.
Must be knowledgeable in use and management of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) as applicable for all equipment for which trained.
This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m.
