**Job Description:**

A Registered Dietician promotes the health, wellness and illness prevention of residents through medical nutrition therapy. This position is responsible for developing meal plans orchestrated around supporting the individual dietary and health needs of each resident, as well as advising and counseling dietary staff members, as well as residents and their family members of proper food and nutrition.

**Responsibilities & Requirements:**

* Bachelors degree in food and nutrition

* Masters degree in nutrition or public health

* One year of clinical experience; experience counseling patients regarding normal and therapeutic nutrition

* New York State Registered Dietician

* Able and willing to inform and educate dietary team, other health care professionals, as well as residents and family members

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Respect for residents privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly

* Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness
