JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanical Engineer will assist our multi-disciplined engineering team(s) with assigned tasks and will have many opportunities to grow and develop, both professionally and personally.

JOB DUTIES:

• Perform as Mechanical Engineer on projects including mechanical engineering scope both in the production and support systems areas.
• Independently design process piping systems including routing, sizing, materials selection, and pipe supports.
• Assist with Technical portions of Project Meetings internally and with customers.
• Responsible for efforts on initial site visits for evaluation of mechanical systems.
• Perform complex calculations required to ensure safe and accurate designs.
• Evaluate and/or specify mechanical process systems including piping, ductwork and support equipment.
• Evaluate general arrangements of process equipment and their utility requirements.
• Utilize Revit for system designs and development of drawing packages.
• Provide assistance with development of estimates, proposals, and other deliverables.
• Coordinate with the project managers and other disciplines to facilitate design of systems.
• Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
• This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering is required. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
• Some travel both domestic and international may occasionally be required. 
• Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain. 
• Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
• Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
