Vesco Oil Corporation is Hiring a Sales Rep - Car Appearance Products Near Countryside, IL

Position Summary: Route Sales position to sell car appearance reconditioning products, including a comprehensive line of waxes, polishes, compounds, dressings, soaps, cleaners, solvents, paints, and dyes. Customers may include dealerships, auto auctions, body shops, car washes, professional detail shops, RV shops, and marinas. The Sales Rep will deliver and service accounts from a 26” box truck or similar vehicle.
Essential Functions:
  • Proactively sell automotive car appearance and ancillary products and services to new and existing customers by cold calling, mining, networking, and other sales methods.
  • Effectively close sales to achieve or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement appropriate sales strategies and techniques to target appropriate customers and to teach those skills to regional team members.
  • Develop and maintain client and prospective client relationships to ensure market growth and promotion of all products.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through personal visits and all other means of contact and teach successful relationship building techniques to regional sales team members.
  • Conduct effective sales and product presentations to customers.
  • Educate customers on product and equipment utilization to ensure they are understood and used effectively and safely.
  • Ensure products and services are marketed, positioned, and understood by key decision makers to new and existing clients.
  • Properly qualify customer’s equipment needs and manage territory equipment utilization.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner in accordance with company policy and teach other employees these strategies.
  • Maintain understanding of Car Appearance products and services, market conditions, and industry trends that affect target markets.
  • Identify and quickly respond to competitive threats within the territory. Communicate market intelligence/competitor activity promptly to Sales Manager.
  • File all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitor product inventory levels.
  • Receive and ship warehouse deliveries, as needed.
  • Maintain general warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills to ensure focus on value-added sales activities.
  • Fearless approach in pursuing new business.
  • Desire to train and share knowledge to develop new and existing team members.
  • Self-confidence in decision making skills.
  • Strong customer-orientation; prompt issue resolution/follow-through.
  • Strong written and oral persuasive communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent training and experience in successful sales practices and methods.
  • Minimum 2 years business-to-business (B2B) sales experience, preferably in the car appearance and/or automotive business sector.
  • CDL Class B Driver License with Hazmat or willing to obtain.
  • Good driving record, able to meet Vesco Oil Corporation’s driving requirements.
  • Well-groomed with professional business attire and appearance.
  • Must be able to drive throughout the workday.
Travel:
  • Ability to travel overnight or on rare occasion.
