Verve Industrial Protection is Hiring an UX/UI Designer Near Madison, WI

We're a team of software developers, controls engineers, product managers, designers, and security professionals working to build software solutions that keep the bedrock of modern-day life safe: power, oil, gas, water, chemicals, medicine and other industries.
The team responsible for the Verve Security Center software is looking to add a UX/UI Designer.
What You'll Do
  • Be a design generalist. Participate in user interviews, help facilitate usability walkthroughs and tests, create UX artifacts from initial rough sketches to high-fidelity mockups, update code for components and the design system, help facilitate design discussions, create documentation for best practices. You don't have to be an expert in everything as long as you have a willingness to learn.
  • Design and iterate on user flows, design mockups and prototypes that advance user, product and business goals.
  • Participate and provide feedback in demos and design critiques.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to understand user and business needs to create solutions for complex design problems.
  • Help create and refine the Verve design system to help speed delivery and improve consistency of user experience. Refine existing design system components and create new ones. Document the design system for the design team and development.
  • Develop a deep understanding and help communicate user needs and context to development team and stakeholders that enables feature delivery that delights users.
  • Contribute to improving processes and practices to improve quality and efficiency for the design team and larger organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and look for opportunities to incorporate them into the process or product where it advances goals.
What You'll Need
  • 3 years experience as a UI or UX designer.
  • Experience working on agile teams preferred.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent UX/UI and visual design work.
  • Expert level experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or other modern design applications.
  • Effective communication skills as a writer, presenter, and facilitator.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JS frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Experience creating custom icons and illustrations.
  • Design background working on applications for complex and highly technical domains.
There may be occasional opportunities for brief travel, but travel is neither frequent nor required.
