Job Summary

The Test Engineering Technician will focus on building, commissioning, and testing new subsystems to be used in large battery backup products deployed with Vertiv uninterruptible power supplies. Subsystems include batteries and electronic subassemblies. This position works closely with others from research & development to deliver a solution while meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and disassemble electrical equipment.
• Setup instrumentation for testing (oscilloscopes, thermocouples, power supplies, and other equipment).
• Operate the instrumentation, collect data, and document the results.
• Troubleshoot and assist in the development of solutions or workarounds to resolve defects.
• Participate in the execution of testing and compliance related activities.
• Modify prototype circuit boards.
• Assist in the definition of a common set of procedures and methodologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

• 2 years of experience
• Punctuality and regular attendance
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must have good planning, organizing, and documentation skills.
• Must be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to use a personal computer, job-related software, and electrical instrumentation.
• Must be able to read and interpret electronic and electrical schematics.
• Ability to modify circuit boards (soldering experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in any of the following areas is desirable:
  • Commercial or industrial power infrastructure
  • Uninterruptible power supplies
  • Lithium-ion battery management systems
