Vertiv is Hiring a Production Supervisor - Modular Solutions Near Anderson, SC

Vertiv is hiring a Production supervisor for our Integrated Modular Solution (IMS) business in Anderson, SC.

Responsibilities:

  • Help oversee the operation of IMS under the IMS manager. 
  • Determine and evaluate aspects of production, policy adherence, and quality across department. 
  • Continually assess and evolve production methods and equipment.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to IMS team and determine the cause of performance gaps using collaborative data knowledge and creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Document/report all production and quality requirements and any performance gaps.
  • Proactively search for ways to improve production performance and channel these ideas via the team and team leaders.
  • Learn and retain a good working knowledge of all equipment and processes within your production section.
  • Provide support for maintenance activities as and when required.
  • Ensure accuracy in maintaining production records such as quantities and types produced.
  • Responsible for the team’s time keeping and overseeing discrepancies. 
  • Populating and operating the vacation tracker for team. 
  • Organize production meetings with blue and red shirts. 
  • Liaise with contractors to deliver production date success. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure your Teams are compliant with all organization safety and performance policies.
  • Ensure the completion of periodic performance reviews on your team members according to the company’s 6 core values.
  • Conduct applicable corrective actions and coaching sessions and encourage accountability.
  • Set and maintain a certain standard of excellence for your team to follow.
  • Set daily goals for your shift and ensure follow-through.
  • Resolve issues encountered in keeping a team of employees on target.
  • Understand and promote pertinent plant and department objectives to the team.
  • Have strong understanding of circuit breakers, transformers, UPS systems and control systems. 
  • Have excellent fabrication and bending skills of various sized conduits from EMT, IMC and rigid. 
  • Have excellent practical skills with hand tools and power tools. 
  • Have a methodical approach to work and the ability to make accurate measurements. 
  • Committed to keeping up with industry developments and to work to a schedule with planned deadlines. 
  • Have experience with industrial tools such as rigid benders, power pony’s and threaders. 
  • Be Capable of installing various cable trays, Ladder, and basket. 
  • Excellent understanding of cable management should be proficient with terminations.
  • Have strong industrial application experience. 
  • Work as a team member or alone to complete projects.
  • Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes.
  • Make decisions based on technical documents / E-drawings and adhere to Strick guidelines. 
  • Troubleshoot and understand 480v systems. 
  • Keep their work area tidy with responsibility for tools and material provided. 
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment.
  • Perform quality testing and inspections. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 4 years of Electrical Engineering experience or superintendent in the Electrical field for min of 4 years.
  • Knowledge of low voltage switchboard / switchgear design, installation, and use
  • Knowledge of local, state, & federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchboards/switchgear. 
  • Working knowledge in Autodesk suite of Engineering software including AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical construction drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Understanding of the current version of the National Electrical Code
  • Interpreting customer specification requirements.
  • Have the ability to research new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to think outside the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability or maintainability.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree
  • Electrical superintendent with production background. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • No Special Physical Requirements
  • Light Lifting (5 Ibs.-25 Ibs.)
  • Medium Lifting (30 Ibs. – 45 Ibs.)
  • Frequent Standing

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)
  • Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.)
  • Work outdoors (no effective protection from weather)

TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED 

  • Less than 5%
  • May require site visit if required but should be minimal.
