EMI/EMC Test Engineer
Vertical Laboratories is looking for an EMI/EMC Test Technician.
Job Description:
Our environmental simulation laboratory is searching for a competent and experienced EMI/EMC Test Technician with at least 5 years of experience to join our team. In this role, the successful applicant will design and fabricate custom test setups per customer requirements as well as perform testing to published standards. They will oversee all phases of development, testing, and final reporting. Responsibilities:
  • Perform testing to standards such as MIL-STD-461, RTCA/DO-160, MIL-DTL-810, EIA-364-66, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-24308.
  • Perform testing in the areas of Radiated Emission, Radiated Susceptibility, Conducted Emission, and Conducted Susceptibility.
  • Set up and perform EMI tests and support customers during troubleshooting in the event of a test failure.
  • Repair test equipment (preamp, amplifier, and power supplies).
  • Maintain a test schedule in order to meet project goals per customer requirements.
  • Research these test standards and create test plans based on the needs of our customers.
  • Prepare electrical equipment for testing such as DMM, HiPot Tester, Power supplies, current sensors, force gauges, amplifiers, oscilloscope, frequency generator, and spectrum analyzer.
  • Collaborate with Quality Management Staff in order to ensure all company policies and procedures are implemented during testing.
  • Stay current with best practices and investigate new methods of testing.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent report and technical document writing skills.
  • Impeccable communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent skills with Windows Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook – must be able to chart and graph trends, create metrics, and track and monitor data.
  • Strong root cause and trend analysis reporting skills.
  • Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Ability to work independently to create and deliver testing results.
  • Working knowledge of Tile software or equivalent.
