CNC Specialist

Reports to: Production Manager

Top level objectives: Fabricate prototype optical components of exceptional quality for use in aerospace, medical, defense, semi-conductor, and energy industries.

Expectations:

• Program Mastercam and operate and troubleshoot computer-controlled fabrication machines (5- axis simultaneous CNC equipment).
• Machine optical components to the customer’s specifications.
• Grind the optical surface to prepare the part for polishing.
• Machine features onto various optical components.
• Follow engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, procedures, process specifications, schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Hold close tolerances during the fabrication and integration of complex optical configurations.
• Use measurement devices such as CMM, micrometers, etc.
• Develop exceptional processes and procedures for Vertex teammates to follow.
• Maintain accurate notes and properly fill out documentation.
• Communicate safety, quality, productivity, and personnel issues to supervisor.
• Cross train and assist team members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Mastercam.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with 5-Axis simultaneous CNC machines.
• Experience with various glass materials helpful, but not required.
• CMM experience beneficial.
• Must have the flexibility to work overtime and off hours.
• Self-starter.

Pay: $26-$35 per hour depending on experience and skill level.
