VERSATUBE BUILDING SYSTEMS is Hiring a Laser/Press Brake Operator Near Nampa, ID

We are searching for a Laser/Press Brake Operator to join our rapidly growing company! This is an on-site position located in our Collierville, Tennessee warehouse.

The Laser/Press Brake Operator position is responsible for utilizing a hydraulic or mechanical press to bend and shape metal based on the customer’s needs.

Laser/Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:

  • Perform typical press operations to produce materials according to specifications and on schedule.
  • Inspect the materials produced for quality and conformity; correct any inconsistencies.
  • Set up laser, including downloading programs, verifying cut conditions, loading material onto laser bed, and running and inspecting first article parts.
  • Perform maintenance on machine, including general cleaning, schedule lubrication, clean/change air intake filters, gas changes, removal of slag build-up on laser table, focus lens cleaning, air filter cleaning, maintain conveyor systems, change gas bottles, replace lock pins in safety guards, replace ion exchange resin and filters, resonator optics, bend mirror cleaning and replacement, optical alignment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems with laser equipment.
  • Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into machine.
  • Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
  • Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
  • Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
  • Work with tight tolerances.
  • Produce parts for assembly operations.
  • Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.
  • Perform spot inspections of parts.
  • Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork.
  • Identify assembly parts.
  • Set up light gauge metal.
  • Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).
  • Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.
  • Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.
  • Read drawings and blueprints.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
  • Consistently meet production and quality requirements.

Laser/Press Brake Operator Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of operating a press brake, and at least 1 year experience operating laser cutting machines
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Good math skills
  • Able to read precision measuring equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to follow all safety procedures
  • The position requires standing for an entire shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working with metals, oils and greases Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
