Seasonal Wildland Engine Boss- This position would fill an opening on an apparatus when resourced out and be paid by VFD. The wage is $32.00 to $35.00 PER HOUR depending on experience. Plus Overtime when on assignment. *This is an on-call position not a staffed position. Prefer someone within Arizona or at least within 4 hours. We can provide housing for someone that may want to stay in area to wait for their next assignment. We will provide Wildland PPE's except for wildland boots.

Minimum requirements for this position are:

· Be at least 20 years of age and possess a valid AZ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.

· Must provide certificates of training and provide verifying of Wildland Engine Boss certification.

· Must be able to pass a pack test to be red card certified for Vernon Fire District

· Or a valid “Red Card” issued by your home agency with current RT-130 Refresher Cert.

· Be able to pass a drug test, and a background check.

· Ability to commit to 18-21 days with little to no notice

· Possess all necessary personal items for a “3 week bag”, etc. for extended assignment

· You must be able to follow directions and be physically fit to perform the required duties.
