Vernet Corporation is looking for a Set Up Technician 1st shift to join our team.
This position is responsible for all duties related to the set up and maintenance and/or preventative maintenance of all tooling and die sets, which included the equipment they are installed in. Safety of the occupants, machinery, and building should be taken into consideration in every decision.
Complete set up and other duties in a timely and professional manner and completely up through line fill.
Prepare tooling for set up and include all necessary components.
Keep stamp inventories and other consumables at proper levels and complete required documentation.
Assist Manufacturing Engineers, Product Engineers, Quality personal, Maintenance leaders and other Maintenance Tech’s as needed to successfully troubleshoot tooling and/or machine issues.
Respond to downtime work requests, including tooling issues and stuck parts.
Identify potential tooling and machine issues through visual inspection and other techniques.
Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
Identify and document problems related to product, process and quality systems. Work with the proper personal to remedy these issues and update procedures and the documentation related to them.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Suggest actions for continual improvement to processes and or systems and the actual implementation of solutions including documentation.
Maintains efficiency, housekeeping and, above all, safety.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
A High School education and a mechanical aptitude is required. Prefer 6-12 months of machine set-up experience. Basic math knowledge to use measuring equipment. Knowledge of basic hand tool and power tooling usage. Must be able to learn and follow all Lockout/Tag out requirements. Ability to do minor troubleshooting of machines or tooling. Should be detail oriented, logical thinker, and have a sense of urgency.
