Vermont Federal Credit Union was founded in 1953 as the Burlington Postal Employees Credit Union. Just a short time later, the Credit Union was renamed to the U.S. Government Employees Credit Union of Chittenden County. Our connection to these roots remains strong as many government employees in Vermont are still loyal members of Vermont Federal. nt that membership was no longer limited to only government employees. We now operate under a community charter, opening the possibility of membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in a variety of Vermont counties, as well as any of their family members. Those counties include: Chittenden, Grand Isle, Franklin, Lamoille, Washington, Caledonia, Orange, Orleans, and Addison. This Credit Union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration. Equal Housing Lender. NMLS Institutional ID# 466013.
