VEIC is nationally recognized for developing pilots and programs that optimize energy use, reduce energy burdens for low-income customers, and advance new technologies. In addition to our full-service consulting business, VEIC administers three large-scale sustainable energy programs: Efficiency Vermont, Efficiency Smart, and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility.

Responsibilities

The Temporary Marketing and Communications Assistant will support the development and execution of Efficiency Smart’s communication projects. This includes developing blog posts, website copy, newsletter articles, and social media content. This position will work closely with Efficiency Smart’s marketing team to ensure a consistent brand is supported through all content.

• Develop content for communication channels including social media, web, and newsletters
• Complete content calendar for Efficiency Smart social media accounts
• Provide proofreading assistance
• Work closely with the marketing team to support other projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

 The position is for 20 hours per week, for 10-12 weeks Working hours are flexible during normal business hours (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday).

Qualifications

• Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals, and values of VEIC.
• Currently enrolled at a higher education institution, majoring in marketing, communications, English, or an applicable area of study
• A strong understanding of social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter (X)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Experience with Photoshop, Canva, InDesign and Illustrator is helpful but not essential.
• Strong work ethic, dependable, detail-oriented, well organized, and able to prioritize competing priorities and deadlines
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly and succinctly
• Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be willing to help other team members when appropriate.
