Vermont Catholic Schools Office is Hiring a High School Math Teacher Near South Burlington, VT

Rice Memorial is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for high school students. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and promoting a love for mathematics while supporting the missions and values of Rice Memorial.Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive, challenging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with state and national standards.Create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and abilities.Instruction: Deliver clear and effective instruction in various areas of mathematics, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, encouraging a growth mindset and continuous improvement.Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and collaboration.Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with students, parents, and colleagues.Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and academic goals.Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of mathematics education.Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.Extracurricular Involvement: Actively participate in school-related activities, such as clubs, competitions, and events, to contribute to the overall educational experience.Mission: Promote and uphold the values and mission of Rice Memorial High School and the Diocese of BurlingtonQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).State teaching certification in Mathematics.Demonstrated expertise in teaching high school mathematics.College Board AP teaching experience preferredStrong classroom management and organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.Technological proficiency in integrating educational technology into lessons.
