Vermont Catholic Schools Office is Hiring a Head of School/Principal Near Morrisville, VT

All Saints Catholic Academy is seeking a new principal to lead and serve our dedicated community of teachers, staff, parents, students, and our surrounding towns. Our mission statement speaks to the leadership qualities that our new principal will espouse. All Saints Catholic Academy educates children of all faiths to achieve academic excellence, challenging them to fully develop their God-given talents with commitment to truth, compassion, self-discipline, and love for all, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. The premise of love each child is a fundamental value of our school. Qualities include an intense and eager enthusiasm for working with children and the pursuit of excellence in their education. Experience and qualifications include successful independent school teaching and administrative experience, a strong commitment to the Catholic faith, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a high energy level for the positive challenges ahead. Love, respect, and compassion are ubiquitous in every aspect of our school. Our new leader will know each student by name and help cultivate their successful journey onto their successful pathway in life. Located in Morrisville, 8 miles from the resort town of Stowe, the school is a co-educational, independent Catholic day school serving nearly 200 students in pre-K through grade 8-the only private school of its kind in the area. The diverse student body comes from the Lamoille County region and includes a high percentage of non-Catholics. The mission is to provide academic excellence and Christian values in an environment where students are motivated to achieve their maximum potential. The 40-acre campus is in a rural setting bordering Morrisville with nature trails and, 2 soccer fields, with room for future site development. ASCA has coed soccer, basketball, and clubs for Nordic skiing, golf, lacrosse, and track. Facilities are new with large classrooms, gym, cafeteria, multi-purpose room, library, chapel, and storage building. Preferred qualifications and duties and skills include but are not limited to:
    Catholic Mission and Culture
    • Promote and develop an active faith community within the school and serve as a beacon to the greater community.
    • Maintain a culture that promotes the mission and encourages staff to contribute to the maintenance in an impactful and meaningful way.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with the Office of Catholic Schools.
    Leadership and Administration
    • Demonstrate organization to perform administrative tasks efficiently and effectively.
    • Communicate effectively and regularly with all members of the school community.
    • Provide support and direction to the Board of Trustees.
    • Strive to improve professional performance through professional development.
    • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships through clear communication and active listening.
    • Comply with all applicable diocesan policies and state and federal laws.
    Curriculum and Instruction/Staff Development
    • Serve as the instructional leader focusing on the school's quality of teaching and learning.
    • Work with the faculty to develop and coordinate an educational program that provides for the various needs, abilities, talents, and interests of students.
    • Be effective in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff, and make sound recommendations regarding personnel placement, retention, and dismissal.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff regarding their professional growth and assist with accomplishing annual goals.
    • Communicate clearly defined expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with families and each other.
    • Visit classrooms regularly and conduct formal evaluations bi-annually with meaningful feedback, geared toward growth.
    Student Services
    • Ensure that school rules, consistent with the handbooks, are uniformly observed and that consequences are applied equitably to all students who may fall short of the schools expectations.
    • Oversee special education evaluations and student support services (academic and social-emotional).
    Family Relations
    • Maintain contact with school families consistently.
    • Be clear with families regarding the schools mission, philosophy, programs, policies, etc.
    • Avail oneself to family meetings as they arise.
    • Provide opportunities for family involvement in school programs and activities.
    • Support faculty and staff who encounter challenges with specific families and/or students.
    Finances/Facilities
    • Manage the finances of the school with assistance from the business office assistant and/or business manager.
    • Maintain fiscal control, maintain documentation for expenditures, and report accurate fiscal information to the schools Board of Trustees.
    • Consider program needs, projected enrollment, tuition costs, and personnel needs when creating the school budget.
    • Manage and supervise school facilities effectively.
    Development/Recruitment
    • Provide strategic planning in collaboration with the Board, faculty, staff, and families.
    • Work collaboratively with staff working on enrollment to establish and maintain an effective enrollment plan.
    • Collaborate with staff working on development to plan events and activities to support the financial needs of the school.
    • Provide effective and professional public relations within and beyond the local community.
    Credentials
    • Strong commitment to the Catholic faith.
    • Current teaching license and/or administrative license.
    • Masters degree or higher from an accredited institution.
    • 3-5 years experience with proven leadership success.
    • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
    • Clearance to work in the United States.
