Position Title: Sales Representative

Department: Sales

Service Reports to: Sales Manager/GM

Pay $26,000/year $75,000-$100,000/year INCLUDING commission (pay is dependent on relative experience) plus opportunity for bonuses!

FUNCTION: The Sales Representative will represent and promote the sales department operations in a courteous manner which insures customer confidence and maximum efficiency. Coordinate activities and cooperate with other departments. Sell company goods, parts, services at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call on customers and sell the company’s products, parts, and services.
  • Maintain sales department vehicles and office equipment.
  • Keep updated on changes to manufacturers terms, discounts, and special programs.
  • Stay well-informed on current and incoming inventory.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all factory finance plans.
  • Become the customers primary contact for questions regarding the safe operation and proper application of all VGP equipment and accessories.
  • Maintain customer information in CDK.
  • Become an expert in the safe operation of and function of all VGP equipment and accessories sold by the company in order to facilitate Demos
  • Stay current with technical changes, continuing your education by factory service schools, etc.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in Employee Handbook
  • Extensive travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be committed to and take a pro-active approach to our Company Mission, Vision and Values
  • Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite; CDK a plus
  • The ability to quickly build rapport with customers and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience with hydraulic systems, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, diagnosing and calibration.
  • Equipment operator experience required.
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong current electronic diagnosing capabilities
  • Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
  • Demonstrated safe work habits.
  • High degree of customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Strong ability to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co- workers, and manufacturer's employees.
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional, ethical and reliable manner with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear 100% of the time.
  • Ability to be exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat regularly.
  • Ability to withstand moderate to high noise level in working environment regularly
  • Personal appearance must be neat, clean, and professional.
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma, GED or vocational training/certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years experience in outside heavy equipment sales in the same or similar industry preferred
  • 3-5 years heavy equipment technician/mechanic experience preferred.
  • 3 years heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Valid DL required, CDL preferred.
  • Background check, pre-employment drug testing and clean driving record required.
