Job Summary:

Assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and control of bank lending and deposit objectives for area assigned. Responsible for representing and promoting Veritex Bank to businesses, commercial associations, and governmental agencies in the respective area.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Generate a profitable loan and deposit portfolio by interviewing loan applicants, analyzing financial information, and making appropriate loan decisions.
  • Interview current and prospective customers to determine needs and ensure they are provided with the appropriate products and services.
  • Make business development phone calls and visits to current and prospective customers. Encourage and monitor the program throughout the assigned area.
  • Develop and monitor assigned goals that support the overall achievement of bank's goals.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly loan reports to detect and resolve any circumstances or situations that represent a potential risk or loss to the bank.
  • Serve as a representative of the bank and actively participate in community activities.
  • Assist with complex problems and decisions.
  • Attention to regulatory requirements and compliance training applicable to position (Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Information Privacy ETC)
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are absolutely essential.
  • Attend work on a regular basis, on time, and withstand varying degrees of stress.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills required for major contact with customers, executive management, and the public often involving difficult negotiations and requiring skill and resourcefulness in maintaining good will toward the Company.
  • Superior business development, customer relations, and decision making skills essential.
  • Formal credit training desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Three plus years bank operations, lending required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
  • Valid state driver's license, proof of insurance and available transportation.
