We’re seeking a professional to join our team of talented and hard-working Loan Accounting-Servicing Specialists. Under the guidance and direction of the Loan Operations Market Manager, this professional will perform all aspects of processing complex participation and syndication deals, ensuring that the loan core and accounting systems are complete, accurate, represent the intent as approved, follows legal documentation, are auditable and any subsequent action taken based on department and procedures is also complete and accurate.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Primary responsibility is to perform a variety of functions relating to processing complex servicing tasks related to club deals and interest rate Swaps as well as maintaining proper loan records that are balanced to the Bank’s General Ledger.
  • Acts as a resource in responding to inquiries and resolving problems for member banks, internal and external customers.
  • Ensure proper booking of all in house requests for new and renewed Syndication/Participation loans which will include commercial, real estate and consumer.
  • Process all Syndication/Participation loan payments, advances, and rate changes.
  • Process and maintain all SWAP payments.
  • Review, fund and book all loans to loan accounting system as needed. Process any forms necessary to update billing information.
  • Assist with all routine payment and advance transactions for specific loan records when required.
  • Verify billing notices for accuracy.
  • Proactively identifies issues or needed changes, recommends resolution, and participates in quality improvement efforts.
  • Adherences to all regulatory compliance.
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and excellent service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Actively cooperate and interact with other departments to advance the overall interests of the bank.
  • Maintains educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, trainings, conferences and workshops.
  • Assists other operational support areas in the completion of their duties in times of unusual activity or as directed by management.
  • Contributes to the effort of the Bank by performing other duties as assigned.
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are essential.
  • Answers any customer calls and maintains high level of customer service.
  • Escalates questionable transactions and recurring issues to management in a clear and timely manner.
  • Continual communication with Loan Operations Lead regarding issues, progress, and ideas for improvements.
  • Maintains compliance with all banking laws, acts, regulations and bank policies and procedures.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working in a Loan Participation/Syndication Department.
  • Solid understanding of loan documentation, entity and deal structures to ensure correct setup and servicing requirements are established within core systems.
  • Ability to review and interpret documentation to pull pertinent information to take subsequent action (examples include inputting information into core banking systems, updating existing records, performing, and reviewing loan transaction, etc.)
  • Understand all aspects of commercial loan systems to ensure accuracy and completeness, including understanding intent of request, correct order of operation to process and awareness of impact of actions within the core systems.
  • The ability to use critical thinking skills to ensure appropriate policy, procedures and guidelines are being followed.
  • Display a positive attitude throughout interactions with others.
  • Use the most appropriate method of communication to improve information reception and feedback (email, meeting, phone call, teleconference, presentation)
  • Show gratitude to your team members and share information and knowledge selflessly.
  • Assist other VCB team members with understanding.
  • Act with integrity; be polite, honorable & respectful to everyone you interact with
  • Be flexible in your role; exhibit a “can do, whatever it takes” attitude regardless of title, role, or position.
