Job Title: Travel Telecom Technician (Commercial Environment)

Location: Major City, USA, Regional Travel

Travel: Some traveling required

Duration: On-going Contract/Contract to hire

Start Date: Once cleared

Pay Rate: W2- Open pending experience per diem accommodations

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pull, terminate, test and label Cat5e and Cat6 Data cabling (fiber optic experience a plus)
• Experience in security systems (Fire Alarm, CCTV, Nurse Call, Access Control, etc.)
• Terminate data jacks and patch panels
• Install ladder racks, networking equipment and telephone equipment
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of equipment and cabling
• Follow and take instructions from site lead
• Build out telecommunications and equipment rooms
• Work on ladders/lifts as needed
• Ensure job site is clean at the end of shift
• Work in a quick and efficient manner

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience terminating Cat 5/6 cable
• Previous experience working in commercial construction environments on ladders or lifts
• Telecom hand tools and personal protection equipment required

• Lifting, carrying, adjusting, moving and/or transporting of objects up to 50 pounds
• Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, maintaining balance and/or crawling for extended periods
• Pushing and pulling of arms and legs; use of abdominal and lower back muscles
• Coordinating movements of the eyes, hands, fingers and feet
• Ascending and descending of stairs, ladders, lifts, etc.
• Speaking, hearing and seeing to avoid safety hazards
• Strenuous manual labor

The environment for this job will involve:

• Hot and/or cold temperatures
• Uneven terrain and/or obstacles
• Interactions with other individuals
